Professional guidelines

Good practice at subject discipline level is defined in professional codes and guidelines.   A list is provided in the section on ‘External Resources’ on the University’s Research Integrity webpage

Funder guidelines

Most major funders have produced good research practice guidelines, including UKRI and the Wellcome Trust

Medical Research Council (MRC)

The MRC provides free access to training on good research practice, including working with human tissue and data protection.  Registration is required to access materials. 

Health Research Authority (HRA)

E-learning modules include working with human tissue, mental capacity, medical devices and the design of clinical trials.  Registration is required to access materials. 

Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs)

Some international universities have developed short Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs) which provide an introduction to research integrity and ethics.  Including the University of Auckland, Georgetown University and the University of Delft
